Beanie baby style Derpy. I decided she needed a little tongue too. It helps her look more, well, derpy since the only thing I could really do to "derp" her eyes is make the thread attachment go opposite directions.

She's made of minky with button eyes and a felt tongue. I'll be taking commissions for beanie style ponies when I reopen near the end of the month.

Well the point of beanie ponies, at least for me, is to make something simple and thus more affordable. Cutie marks take a long time to applique and would probably double the price of the beanies if I included them, which would kind of defeat the purpose. I was looking at a lot of beanie ponies for inspiration on this and almost everyone who makes them leaves the cutie mark off.

Thanks :) It was fun to make something so quick and easy. Perhaps I'll whip up beanie versions of the mane six in the next couple weeks. Well, all the ones I have minky for. I'm still waiting on my lavender from fabric.com so I won't be able to make Twilight. They need to ship it. I'm getting impatient!

Beanie versions of the 6 sound adorable! I got really lucky and found some lavender minky at a fabric store in Vancouver when I was visiting my mom :D

Nice! For some reason fabric depot doesn't carry lavender, which is so bizarre to me since they have almost every color in the store even really hard to find ones like tomato red and watermelon. No lavender though, so I always need to order that online. I went with fabric.com this time for the free shipping, but I'm pretty sure if I'd ordered with Minky Boutique it would have shipped already. I'll cut them a little slack though since they apparently just moved their location and also it was a long weekend.
