Curious - what colour minky did you use for the lighter shade of purple?
It's violet from Minky Boutique. The violet from them is different than the violet from Fabric Depot, so if you are looking to buy some order it from them specifically. I think that Minky Boutique carries some fabric that isn't shannon brand, hence some of the color differences.
The Fabric Depot violet is a much warmer shade of purple. The violet from Minky Boutique is very close to jewel from Fabric Depot, but just a bit darker. I used jewel for the purple in my Sweetie Belle's mane. You can hardly see the difference in pictures though. Jewel would probably be a decent alternative if you were placing an order from Fabric Depot and wanted to get all your fabric in one place.
