Spitfire Plushie by WhiteHeather Spitfire Plushie by WhiteHeather
Spitfire from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

This is what I've been working on on and off of the past month. I hope you can see why she took forever. Her outfit is, as you can see, fully removable. I got in a bit over my head with this one, but I'm happy with how she turned out.

Spitfire is made from minky with appliqued satin eyes. Her suit is made from a thin athletic knit fabric with appliqued details and closes with clear snaps. The goggles are appliqued satin.

Spitfire was a commission and is not for sale.

If there are any other views you'd like to see with or without suit just ask. I took a ton of pictures, but it seems redundant to upload all of them.

well, I wouldn't ever say my plushies are perfect. There are always changes I'll want to make, but I was really happy with how she turned out!

Would you be willing to do a Soarin commission like this?

Probably, though I may have to rethink pricing on it a bit. The suit ended up being a lot more work than I anticipated when I gave the original quote and I'd need to make a new pattern for Soarin's suit since he has a different body pattern than the mares.

This one was $450 because of all the extra work for the outfit.

It was just called "athletic knit" in the store. I bought it in person so unfortunately I can't link you to a site where you can buy it :(

This one was $450. I'm honestly not sure I'd make it again for that because of how long the outfit took, which was a lot longer than I originally anticipated when I gave the quote.

Oh. Because I was thinking of asking you to make one like this again if I ever save up enough money in the future. I can wait though...

Sucks that custom plushies tend to be so expensive, though I understand it's a lot of work...

Wow! I consider this to be a great deal for $450 considering the amount of work that went into this. Awesome work!

Hah, yeah like I said I'm not sure I'd do it again for that. The suit took a lot longer than I expected! Of course it would probably take less time the second time around since I wouldn't need to remake it three times to get it right ^^;

Thanks so much :)

I have a price list for basic ponies in my Deviant ID section, but something like this obviously adds a lot to the base price. They aren't cheap even without removable suits though!

Just checked it out. That feels huge to me only because I'm a widdle high school student, however given the amount of time, effort precision you put into your work it seems perfectly reasonable.

Unfortunately, I'd have to go without food and water for two years before I can afford this... ._.

Yeah, I understand that most people can't afford to pay that much for them. Thank you for understanding all the effort that goes into them to make them that price though! many people don't and it gets very frustrating to always explain.

You should try taking up sewing yourself if you want a pony plushie :) There are some decent free patterns out there and some nice ones for sale too. I have links to a few in the bottom of my Deviant ID section if you are interested.

I'd love to. But even given my utter lack of talent in that field and non-existent patience, I'm actually starting 1st term of my HSC year (it's like SAT's in the US). Can't really afford to deviate from my classwork...>.<

Keep up the amazing work though! Maybe I will try after all this. If not, when I'm self sufficient I hope VERY much to be able to commission you for one of your pieces. :)

I had to make it two and a half times before I got it to work right. My first try was a total bust, then I made it again but with no applique designs just to make sure it actually worked, then made it again with the detailing...so yeah a huge pain. Spitfire herself had been done for a couple weeks but that darn outfit just took forever to get right!
